The IT Continuity Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring services within scope are compliant (whether regulatory and industry / ASML standards), the resilience & readiness of ASML critical IT services can continue or be recovered quickly in the event of a disruption by the execution of documented recovery plans and related activities to achieve the IT continuity and disaster recovery strategy goals. This role will involve collaboration with the IT Continuity Strategic Lead, the IT Continuity Operational Lead, ART’s and Subject Matter Experts to ensure resilience are built from the ground up. Furthermore alignment and continual development with country management team to ensure ASML is able to execute effective crisis management plans and to ensure compliance with regulatory & industry standards.
Role and responsibilities
Support the Maintenance of the strategic implementation plan, and execute on related activities to achieve the set strategic goals (Focused on Services in Scope).
Support the development and maintenance of the IT Continuity policies and standards while ensuring recovery procedures are kept up to date to maintain a continual state of readiness.
Execute the Business Continuity Management plan for IT, focused on set of Application / Technical Services in scope, in close collaboration with the IT Continuity Operational Lead and other IT Continuity Managers.
Collaborate, Monitor and report towards the IT Continuity Operational Lead and IT Management on operational IT Continuity risks, incidents, and compliance with internal and external requirements, focused on set of Application / Technical Services in scope.
Develop working relationships with internal IT and business stakeholders, as well as the country management team to ensure awareness, understanding and if required provide necessary training to ensure the smooth execution of ASML’s Crisis Management Plans.
Participate as coordinator during regular exercises & simulations to validate accuracy of current recovery runbooks and capabilities in alignment with the DR test & Exercise Manager and IT Continuity Operational Lead.
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cybersecurity teams to ensure resilience is built into systems and services in scope.
Monitor and report on IT continuity risks, incidents, and compliance with internal and external requirements, focused on set of Application / Technical Services in scope.
Support Application Impact Analyses (AIAs) and risk assessments to identify critical IT systems and dependencies, focused on set of Application / Technical Services in scope.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements related to IT Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
Education and experience
5+ years of experience in IT Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery including crisis management and incident response.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), DRi International (ABCO/CBCP) are preferred.
Professional certifications such as CBCI, CBCP, MBCI, ITIL, or ISO 22301 are highly desirable
Proven experience in business continuity management, disaster recovery planning, or a similar role.
Experience working in a multinational organization, particularly within the APAC region.
Skills
Strong understanding of disaster recovery planning and business continuity management.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
Experience in crisis management and/or incident response
Project management experience or certification (e.g., SAFe, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)
Proficiency in business continuity management software and tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure and end-user services.
