Job Summary
The PKI Training Manager will support the Air Force Public Key Infrastructure (AF PKI) Program by designing, developing, and delivering training programs and materials to educate Department of the Air Force (DAF) personnel on PKI usage, best practices, and security implications. This role involves creating accessible, multi-format training content for distribution across various platforms, raising awareness about PKI’s critical role in securing Air Force communications, and ensuring compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards. The developer will collaborate with Government stakeholders to refine and approve training deliverables, requiring a skilled professional with expertise in instructional design and cybersecurity training.
Job Duties
- Training Program Development: Develop and conduct training programs, packages, and materials to educate DAF personnel on PKI usage, best practices, and security implications.
- Specialty Training Development and Delivery: Develop and implement training programs for AF PKI registration roles (RA, LRA, TA, Alt TA, and VO) as directed by the Government, ensuring personnel are equipped to perform their functions effectively.
- Multi-Format Materials: Produce training content in various media formats (e.g., online modules, videos, documents) for posting on the AF PKI website, inclusion in Technical Orders, policy, guidance, and distribution to field users.
- Awareness Campaigns: Raise awareness of PKI’s importance in securing Air Force communications and data through methods such as conferences, briefings, and knowledge-based articles.
- Training Review: Conduct biannual reviews of training content in collaboration with the Government to identify and phase out expiring or outdated material.
- Government Review: Deliver all training programs, packages, and materials to the Government for review and approval prior to deployment.
- Accessibility Compliance: Ensure all training content adheres to Section 508 accessibility policies to accommodate diverse user needs.
- Training Documentation: Maintain accurate status records and documentation for all required and completed training by AF PKI personnel, ensuring accountability and traceability.
Required Qualifications
- Instructional Design: Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs, particularly for technical or cybersecurity topics.
- PKI Knowledge: Familiarity with PKI systems, usage, best practices, and their security implications within a DoD or DAF context.
- Content Creation: Proficiency in producing training materials in multiple formats (e.g., online, video, written) for diverse distribution channels.
- Accessibility Standards: Understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements and experience ensuring training content meets accessibility standards.
- Communication Skills: Ability to create clear, engaging content to raise awareness and educate personnel on complex technical subjects.
- Security Clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret clearance, with all employees cleared to at least Secret by the contract start date of June 1, 2025.
- Location: Ability to work in San Antonio, TX, with potential on-site support at the Government-leased facility as needed for collaboration and material review.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- DAF Training Experience: Prior experience developing training for DAF or DoD personnel, with insight into their operational and security needs.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in instructional design (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) or cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP).
- Multimedia Skills: Advanced proficiency in creating multimedia training content, such as videos or interactive e-learning modules, using tools like Adobe Captivate or Articulate.
- Technical Writing: Strong background in drafting technical documentation, such as Technical Orders or knowledge-based articles, tailored to Government standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Experience working with Government reviewers to refine and finalize training deliverables efficiently.
