Job Summary 

The PKI Project Manager will support the Air Force Public Key Infrastructure (AF PKI) Program by providing management to projects for AF PKI products and services. This role will be responsible for the planning, execution, and closing of projects. This involves tracking all tasks and timelines, managing resources, risk identification and mitigation, and stakeholder communications. Project managers will support all programs within the AF PKI program. This position requires a detail-oriented professional, with exceptional communication skills and time management, and the ability to delegate effectively. 

Job Duties 

  • Project Management: Document project goals, scope, deliverables, success criteria, stakeholders, resources, roles and responsibilities, and rules of engagement in a project charter. 
  • Requirements: Collaborate with Government stakeholders and engineering team to develop and update requirements documents. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify processes that can become more efficient and provide recommendations for how to modify them. 
  • Life Cycle Logistics and Support: Provide logistics and technical support for the AF products, updating and executing the baselined implementation plan to manage new systems, tech refreshes, testing, configuration, deployment, disposal, and audits; deliver the updated plan to the Government on an agreed date post-contract start. 
  • Sustainment Planning: Develop and execute a sustainment plan for the products within the program, including deploying updates and supporting hardware tech refreshes as required. 
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and maintain monitoring mechanisms to continuously track PKI system performance, certificate usage, and security incidents, ensuring timely identification of issues. 
  • Issue Resolution: Coordinate with external organizations to resolve PKI-related issues, answer questions, and provide technical expertise to maintain system integrity and functionality. 
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement a maintenance schedule to update PKI components, address vulnerabilities, and enhance system reliability, working closely with stakeholder organizations. 
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with relevant DAF and Department of Defense (DoD) stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities align with organizational priorities and cybersecurity requirements. 
  • User Support: Address user and site issues via telephone, email, or electronic means, recommending and seeking Government approval for site visits when necessary. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Project Management: Familiarity with setting measurable goals, timelines, and monitoring progress. 
  • Communication: Experience communicating requirements and expectations to teams. Ability to present information in a way that is understandable to a variety of technical levels. 
  • PKI Life Cycle Management: Experience managing the life cycle of PKI systems, including logistics, deployment, sustainment, and disposal, preferably within a DoD or DAF environment. 
  • Planning and Documentation: Ability to develop, update, and maintain detailed implementation and sustainment plans, including audit processes and requirement forecasts. 
  • Security Clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret clearance, with all employees cleared to at least Secret by the contract start date of June 1, 2025. 
  • Location: Ability to reside in San Antonio, TX, and work on-site at the Government-leased facility as needed. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Logistics Management: Background in managing tech refresh cycles, fielding plans, and long-term resource planning (e.g., POM processes). 
  • Customer Service: Strong skills in addressing technical issues remotely and coordinating with Government stakeholders for approvals and updates. 
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to forecast requirements over a five-year period and refine budget inputs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
