Job Title: Director of Cybersecurity Engineering
As a Director of Engineering in Target’s Cyber Fusion Center (CFC), this role will lead a team to build and maintain an integrated technology platform to support our mission.
This role will lead multiple teams and work collaboratively with product management to ensure success of our overall program. The Director of Engineering will also work with customers such as threat intelligence, incident response, and detection operations to build automation and tooling custom to their team’s needs. Additionally, the candidate stepping into this role will:
- Maintain industry expertise in software development best practices and software design. Work with Product Management and use agile practices to implement the fusion center’s technology strategy via quarterly planning.
- Possess strong and innovative approaches to problem solving, great technical leadership, excellent communication (written and verbal, formal and informal), flexibility, accountability, and a self-motivated working style with attention to detail.
- Maintain a mix of both internally developed and vendor provided solutions integrated via automation and API development.
- Advise technology and information security teams, including executives and senior leaders on advances in technology that can help defend against cyber threats.
- Align technology initiatives with business objectives of the company and provide support to a variety of enterprise projects. As a Director, you will drive the team through proactive engagement in technology strategy for the business. You will communicate decisions, priorities and relevant efforts to appropriate levels of staff/resources.
- Participate in annual planning process for technology and business activities. Manage budget and vendor contracts for security tooling and developer resources.
- Lead and develop extremely technical team members, including career development activities and performance management as required.
- Manage all infrastructure required for security applications including: a dedicated datacenter, authentication, cloud resources, and on-prem deployments.

About You:
- 7+ years’ of relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of cybersecurity tooling (SIEM/SOAR/TIP) and the ability to communicate the value of these tools to customers and management
- Experience with modern Javascript frontend development (React, Angular, Vue) and backend development (Python, Java, Go, Node)
- Experience maintaining databases and web application technologies
- Experience with large data streaming pipelines for SQL and NoSQL security log data
- Experience with datacenter hardware and managing non-attributable environments
- You have a proven ability to lead and grow a multifunctional cybersecurity organization
- You are a coach and mentor with the ability to drive improvement and high potential development in others
- Broad and deep knowledge of business, technology/IT, cybersecurity technologies and approaches
The ideal candidate has:
- Experience with Google SecOps, Chronicle, Google Cloud, or equivalent SIEM/SOAR/TIP tooling.
- Experience with multiple migrations of security platforms from in-house to vendor solutions and vice versa.
- Experience integrating genAI into security products and services – including custom RAG pipelines and using MCP servers to assist security analysis.
- Cybersecurity expertise and background to better understand customer requirements.
