CFS is seeking an Cyber Security Specialist. The position will be located at Columbia, MD office and is hybrid.Ā 

Job Description

As a Cyber Security Specialist I at Convergint Federal, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our clients' digital assets, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures to protect against cyber threats.

This job requires a person who remains professional, organized, detail and task oriented, as well as precise, thorough, and collaborative.

  • Monitor network and system logs for suspicious activities and potential security threats.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain incident response procedures and documentation.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and ensure security patches are applied.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure the organization remains in adherence.
  • Promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness within the organization.
  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Manage and maintain security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Research and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the security posture.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and incidents.
  • Generate regular reports on the status of security measures and incidents for management and stakeholders.
  • Document all security incidents, investigations, and outcomes for further analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties assigned within reason of current role previously specified.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED diploma
  • 0-2 years of proven experience with DoD Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, and RMF; Knowledge and understanding of NIST SP;
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, security vulnerabilities, and threat intelligence.
  • Knowledge in using security tools and software for monitoring, detection, and prevention.
  • Ability to problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing security threats.

  • Security Clearances: This position requires a security clearance, a Public Trust. The clearance requirements are determined by the agency(s) in which you are assigned. Convergint Federal will sponsor the level of clearance required. However, it will be your responsibility to obtain and maintain your required level of clearance.

Salary Range:Ā $55,000 - $60,000
