About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Security Engineer III to join our cybersecurity team. This role involves monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements and contributing to continuous improvement in security operations.
This is a hybrid role based out of Alpharetta, GA. Qualified applicants must be local to the area.
Responsibilities
Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents using tools such as SIEM, documenting findings and actions.
Identify and assess emerging threats, conduct threat surveillance, and recommend proactive solutions.
Collaborate across teams to communicate risks, implement security programs, and align controls with organizational goals.
Support compliance with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOX, and assist with audit documentation.
Analyze threat intelligence and generate reports on security trends, posture, and compliance gaps.
Maintain and improve SOC procedures, including guidelines, flow diagrams, and incident response documentation.
Participate in security exercises and recommend automation or process improvements to enhance SOC efficiency.
Requirements
Possess a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Display experience in SOC, cybersecurity operations, or a related role.
Be familiar with audit, compliance, or risk management practices.
Be proficient with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel).
Demonstrate a solid understanding of security tools such as EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability management platforms.
Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory frameworks and audit methodologies.
Possess solid analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISA, CISM, or GIAC are highly valued.
