Technical Manager

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams responsible for developing and integrating backend, AI/ML, blockchain, and UI modules across secure digital systems in defense and homeland security domains.

Responsibilities

• Manage a multidisciplinary team of developers across backend, AI/ML, UI/UX, and blockchain streams
• Coordinate sprint planning, task prioritization, and delivery tracking for each workstream

• Lead the technical integration of software components into cohesive platforms
• Oversee system testing, validation planning, and quality assurance workflows
• Serve as the key liaison between architecture, development, and system integration professionals and teams
• Facilitate risk mitigation, progress monitoring, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Promote adherence to cybersecurity and performance standards across deliverables
• Guide onboarding, mentorship, and performance evaluation of team members
• Collaborate with project managers to align with milestones, budgets, and timelines

Requirements

• Master/PhD Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional technical teams in defense or R&D projects
• Hands-on experience with API architecture, cloud/backend platforms, and full-stack system logic
• Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, blockchain protocols, and UI/UX best practices
• System integration and validation experience for modular/microservice architectures
• Git, JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile practices
• Fluency in English is required

Nice to have

• Experience in managing teams within EDF, EDIDP, or EU research environments
• Exposure to defense system compliance, DevSecOps frameworks, or TRL-based integration
• Understanding of system encapsulation, deployment environments (e.g., Docker/K8s), and interface specification
• Experience leading MVP development cycles, knowledge of OKRs, stakeholder demo planning
