General function

As a Senior Information Security Software Data Engineer (ISE), you will join a seasoned Agile data engineering team to design and build custom, data-driven cyber security solutions.  You will work with a cloud-first approach that integrates with on-premises and SaaS platforms that support critical metrics and data programs for the bank.  Your responsibilities will include harmonizing with product leaders in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining custom code and integrations in concert with product priorities. By ensuring data is available, you will help uncover opportunities to enhance our cyber security programs.

What you will be doing

As the Senior Information Security Software Data Engineer, you will join our team to support the development and maintenance of data-driven cybersecurity solutions. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom code and integrations to support a range of consumers including senior leadership. Your role will involve building tools and solutions for data management, security, and value generation. This includes working with multiple teams to co-develop solutions and gather the necessary data across various domains such as data ingestion, ETL, enrichment, data warehousing, analytics, and data delivery. By ensuring data is available, you will help uncover opportunities to enhance our cyber security programs.
 

Additionally:

• Contribute to good data practices.
• Exercise SOLID coding design
• Prepare and run automated tests.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as story writing, estimation, sprint planning, retrospective, and standups.
• Create changes to new and existing code through integrated Peer Review (PR) process.
• Establish working relationship with other teams that support data insights and metrics.
• Participate in team quality practices to ensure long term sustainability and maintainability.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you should have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable / relevant experience
• Four+ years of IT work experience relevant to the position, including at least two+ years in a hands-on information security development role.
• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including, but not limited to: Python, Java, C/C++, C#, or Go.
• Experience with databases and SQL
• Ability to write readable and complete test code at unit through integration levels.
• AWS experience with modern serverless and hybrid patterns
• Belief that infrastructure should be deployed as code.
• Desire to learn and ability to connect with team members to solve technical challenges
• Experience with SAS and PowerShell is a plus
• Experience with PowerBI or similar technology is a plus
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes/Openshift are pluses
