Thales UK has a fantastic opportunity for a Site Security Manager to join and manage the daily security operations at our Templecombe Site. Thales in Templecombe is our largest UK sites with three Manufacturing buildings and a commercial office. We offer a diverse range of operations delivering to both commercial and defence contracts. As a number of MOD contracts are delivered to and a significant number of employees are working with secret information, we are looking for an experienced security specialist with expertise and knowledge of MOD List X Security Clearance.

The role will provide an effective and efficient security service to all Thales businesses at the Templecombe site, ensuring compliance with relevant national, Group and UK security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

The post holder will fulfil a varied role, requiring you to be proactive and work with competing priorities. Key tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Managing efficient and effective co-ordination and execution of
  • Implementing policies and processes in accordance with corporate governance in relation to security as defined in Chorus referential system
  • Attending site management meetings
  • Assisting with site internal and external audits
  • Creation, implementation and maintenance of Site Security Plan (SSP)
  • Maintaining the site security risk register
  • Managing the correct issuing, storage, mustering and destruction of classified assets
  • Carrying out induction for new employees.
  • Working closely with 3rd party service providers as jointly agreed by Thales in the scope of work paper in respect of the implementation of the manned guarding contract.
  • Maintaining Thales site accreditation and/or relevant HMG accreditations
  • Liaison with customer / sub-contractor security organisations to advise on the correct and secure conduct of all contracts
  • Interface with appropriate Thales project managers together with customer and sub-contractor counterparts so that security aspects of projects are identified and correct procedures are put in place and complied with as applicable
    • Security Aspects Letters (SAL)
    • The HMG Security Policy Framework (SPF)
    • Corporate Security Policies (Chorus)
    • UK Law and Legislation
    • CPNI Standards and Specifications
    • If MOD – appropriate Joint Service Publications (JSP) such as JSP 440
  • Provide advice and guidance to the business to protect Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Company, customer and third party information and assets.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working on MOD contracting sites with knowledge and understanding of List X Sites is essential.
  • Experience managing a small team would be desirable
  • Good communicator – both written and verbal with ability to present to large groups
  • CISSP certification would be desirable but not essential
  • Proactive in nature with the ability to engage and influence teams

This role will require SC Clearance. If not currently held it is expected that the post holder will undergo SC Clearance, please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
