To help us achieve these goals, we are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of IT Operations to lead our organization’s technology infrastructure, IT operations, and support services. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of IT systems and operations while driving continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have ample experience running high-performing IT operations teams with outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills. This director will work closely with the CTO to strategize and develop a long-term plan that achieves both our technology and business objectives.
What you’ll do
- Lead and manage IT operations including the design and implementation of infrastructure, network, cloud services, data centers, service desk, and end-user support.
- Collaborate with the CTO to develop and implement IT operational strategies and roadmaps, aligning them with the overall technical and business objectives.
- Oversee the performance, availability, and scalability of enterprise systems and networks.
- Develop and implement IT operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, including resources within sys ops, dev ops, networking, and corporate IT, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Manage the relationships, service level agreements (SLAs), and contracts for IT vendors and service providers.
- Develop and manage IT operations budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness, cost controls, and efficient resource allocation.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and execution.
- Drive innovation in IT operations, exploring new technologies and solutions to support business growth.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of experience in IT operations management, including at least 6 years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing complex on-premises and cloud IT infrastructures and operations in a mid-to-large scale enterprise.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IT strategies and roadmaps.
- Experience with Azure and AWS cloud technologies.
- Strong leadership, people management, collaboration, and communication skills
- Expertise in IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services (AWS, Azure), and IT service management
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulatory compliance
- Experience with operational frameworks and process improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and security
- Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes
Preferred Certifications:
- ITIL Foundation or higher
- PMP, CISSP, or other relevant certifications
- Microsoft, AWS, or other vendor-specific certifications
