Job Description SummaryThis role is responsible for coordinating all cybersecurity & risk activities for the GE Advanced Vernova Research Center in Bangalore, India. This will include working with the GE Vernova Cybersecurity Team, the DT Team, and researchers to understand the needs and ensure solutions are developed and operational in compliance with business needs and regulatory requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

Act as Site Information Protection & Security Leader for the Bangalore India location

  • Work with global project leaders to ensure timely and successful implementation of all information protection systems and programs
  • Coordinate day-to-day cybersecurity operational activities in Bangalore
  • Partner with local and global team members in GE Vernova Advanced Research and GE Vernova to deliver secure IT solutions
  • Lead and coordinate site IT-security & compliance audit programs
  • Work with site business leadership to understand their requirements and develop cybersecurity & risk management solutions that meet their needs and align with the global cybersecurity strategy
  • Coordinate response for IT-Security & information protection incidents that arise at the site
  • Lead Information Protection & IT-Security Awareness activities for Bangalore
  • Ensure all information protection & IT-Security programs comply with regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for cybersecurity and risk at the Bangalore site

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, or related discipline
  • 7+ years of overall experience in IT and 5+ years working directly in the field of Information Security & Data protection
  • Experience applying controllership principles and enforcing compliance with local and global policies and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of IT Security concepts
  • Experience in security and compliance audit programs
  • Experience in designing, enhancing, and implementing detailed wing to wing processes
  • Proven track record of detailed quality documentation delivery to defined standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Security certifications relevant to IT environment
  • Training or experience in IT Audits and following up to closure
  • Technical background in network or system administration, application development, or IT security
  • Experience conducting forensically sound investigations
  • Experience implementing and running data leakage utilities
  • Experience with NIST, ISO27001/2, COBIT, and/or other regulatory requirements a plus
  • ITIL certification or significant experience implementing ITIL
  • Proven experience accelerating change
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of IT Staff located in multiple sites, including proven effectiveness working with global teams
