As a result of an exciting new government contract, we are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to help establish a strong working partnership with two agencies.  

 

Supporting critical federal government accounts and enterprise clients, you'll work on cyber operations and safeguard systems in line with the Australian Government’s Information Security Manual (ISM) — setting the gold standard for everything we do.

 

Whether it’s ensuring compliance, optimising defences, or coordinating response activities, you’ll help deliver security outcomes that truly matter.

 

The Day to day: 

  • Take charge of cyber operations using advanced security technologies and tools
  • Deliver threat assessments, vulnerability scans, policy compliance reviews, and tailored reporting
  • problem solve across secure environments
  • Design and document secure configurations with remediation actions that align with ISM controls
  • Drive security governance and support the development of policy and procedures with ISM as the foundational framework, alongside standards like ISO 27001 and SOC2
  • Collaborate closely with delivery teams, government clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant service delivery
  • Track operational performance and compliance metrics to ensure continuous improvement

 

Your skills: 

  • Deep technical capability and a consultative approach to risk and security
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience implementing and aligning with Fed Gov ISM controls
  • Proven success operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments—especially across government contracts
  • Proficiency with security platforms such as Tenable, Splunk, endpoint protection tools, proxies, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, and compliance with ISM as a top priority, supported by ISO 27001 and SOC2 understanding
  • Data analysis and Python scripting capabilities are a plus
  • Relevant certifications like CISM, CRISC, CSTSP, or CEH are highly regarded
  • Australian Citizenship and active Federal Government security clearance (Baseline or NV1) are essential
