Cybersecurity Engineer 3

Description -

Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of HP’s IT disaster recovery framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives by establishing clear policies, procedures, and accountability frameworks to effectively respond to and recover from potential disruptions, managing risk assessments, and working with various application leads and other stakeholders to update and test recovery plans on a regular basis.

  • Policy and Procedure Development:
    • Establish and maintain clear disaster recovery policies and procedures, including recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs). 
    • Collaborate on defining roles and responsibilities for different disaster recovery teams across the organization. 
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders across IT to ensure alignment with business needs and priorities in disaster recovery planning. 
    • Communicate disaster recovery plans and procedures to relevant personnel. 
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential disaster scenarios and their impact on critical business operations. 
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders on the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of potential disasters. 
  • Plan Development and Testing:
    • Oversee the development and documentation of comprehensive disaster recovery plans for various scenarios. 
    • Regularly conduct disaster recovery drills and tests to validate plan effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Compliance and Audit:
    • Ensure compliance with established policies and standards related to disaster recovery. 
    • Monitor and audit disaster recovery processes to identify potential weaknesses and areas for improvement. 
  • Technology Oversight:
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and solutions related to disaster recovery, including data replication, cloud computing, and high availability systems. 
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders on the evaluate and recommendation for new technologies to enhance disaster recovery capabilities

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in IT supervisory, or a related field.

Preferred Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of business continuity planning and disaster recovery principles
  • Proven experience in risk management and assessment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and data management
  • Project management skills to oversee the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans
  • Ability to lead and influence stakeholders at all levels

• Uses program management concepts and company objectives to resolve issues in creative and effective ways.
