Job DetailsSummary:
This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the planning, execution, and management of the Information Security workforce and talent strategy. The Security Workforce Strategy Principal develops, reviews, and analyzes workforce and talent performance against organizational benchmarks and key performce indicators (KPIs) to evaluate effectiveness, provide actionable insights, identify workforce and talent risk, and drive continuous improvement. They lead the design, development, and execution of strategies to address security workforce and talent needs leveraging current workforce data, organizational objectives, and emerging industry threats and trends. They collaborate closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders (Security senior leadership, HR, Talent, etc.) to manage and lead initiatives for skills development, talent attraction and retention, and talent pipelining to ensure the security workforce is equipped with strategic cyber security competencies and promotes career mobility within the organization. They are expected to have a deep understanding of the Information Security domains in which they are aligned. They play a key expert role in defining Information Security workforce principles and best practices. They act as a subject matter expert for Information Security workforce and talent strategy and participate in senior leadership meetings to bring Information Security perspective to company-wide practices.
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership in developing strategies to address security workforce and talent needs leveraging current workforce data, organizational objectives, and emerging industry trends and threats.
Collaborates with Talent Acquisition, HR, and Finance to develop and implement strategies to attract, hire, and retain top cyber talent and cultivate talent pipelines for critical roles, including junior talent pipelines.
Manages and leads initiatives for skills development, including training and certification programs, to ensure Security workforce is equipped with the latest cybersecurity competencies and to promote career mobility within the organization.
Manages and leads on-going prioritization and allocation of Security workforce to effectively achieve organizational objectives and ensure operational efficiency.
Formulates methodologies to monitor, assess, and analyze Security workforce and talent performance against organizational benchmarks and KPIs to evaluate effectiveness, provide actionable insights, identify risk, and drive continuous improvement.
Deliver clear and comprehensive reporting that summarizes Security workforce and talent performance, outcomes, risks, and strategic insights to Security leadership to ensure transparent communication and drive proactive, informed decision-making.
Guides, coaches, and mentors Security leaders, team members, and peers to drive awareness and adoption of Enterprise and Security workforce and talent processes and guardrails.
Continuously analyzes the effectiveness of the workforce and talent strategy and recommends and implements improvements to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
Leads Security workforce and talent planning and analysis activities in partnership with Security leadership and partners (Talent, HR, Sourcing, Finance, etc.) to provide strategic and tactical direction and align to organizational objectives.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.
Preferred Certifications:
Industry Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe LPM, etc.)
Industry project management certification (e.g., PMP, etc.)
Change management certification (e.g., Prosci, etc.)
Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
Certification in Information Security Strategy Management (CISM)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
CompTIA Security + Certification
Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
TS-SCI Security Clearance Certification
Work Experience:
8+ years of directly-related or relevant experience, preferably in information security.
Leadership:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
Change Leadership: demonstrated success promoting change by helping others to change and remove barriers.
Consulting and Influencing: strong ability to assess customer needs, provide expert advice, and develop solutions that enhance workforce and talent performance in alignment with organizational objectives.
Strategic Communication: able to simplify the complex with proven experience presenting to top level leaders.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust approach in response to changing or evolving organizational conditions or priorities.
Collaboration: strong inclination to work effectively with different teams, foster a spirit of cooperation, and break down silos.
Technical Skillsets:
Cybersecurity: strong knowledge of cyber principles, frameworks, technologies, and standards (SOX, ISO 27001/27002, COBIT, ITIL, NIST, PCI, etc.).
Strong ability to develop and implement long-term workforce strategies that align with cyber organizational goals.
Experience in developing and executing global staffing and sourcing strategies that enhance operational effectiveness and drive business performance.
Experience with talent acquisition, retention, and development practices.
Strong knowledge of cyber workforce, trends, principles, frameworks, and technologies.
Ability to predict future workforce needs based on organizational goals, industry trends, and internal data.
Data management and reporting: proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to generate insightful reports that inform decision-making, track workforce and talent performance.

Full timeSalary Range*$121,000 - 186,230*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
