Brief Description of Role & Responsibility:
This co-op position will have the opportunity to work on projects and tasks to help maintain and advance the cybersecurity posture of Cincinnati Childrenās Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). The individual will play an instrumental role in assuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of CCHMC data. An ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a similar field.
The program provides an opportunity for students to acquire information security skills, gain real-world experience, and see emerging technologies as they are used in the field. Most of this work will be done in a remote setting, with some work done in the office.
Candidates will be exposed to many areas of the cybersecurity field (see below) and gain an understanding of practicing information security in a healthcare setting.

LEARN
Learn the daily routines of healthcare/research investigators, foster career interests in healthcare/research.
Gain experience and awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required in healthcare/research professions.
Gain an understanding of different health/research careers, including the cultures and work environments that can be unique to a particular healthcare/research profession.
Develop an understanding of the critical connections between education, work and goal attainment.
Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations.
Complete Cincinnati Children's training required for the position.
Adhere to safe work practices.
Understand, adhere to and model Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department / unit.
