Job Summary

Are you a strategic leader with extensive experience in telecommunications, end user and server infrastructures, and leveraging cloud services? We’re looking for a seasoned professional to lead our infrastructure and telecommunications teams.  You’ll manage complex IT and regulated OT environments.  You will lead the transformation of these services by working with strategic partners to implement next-generation technologies.  The role demands a balance of technical depth, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership.  If you thrive in fast-paced, mission-critical environments and are ready to shape enterprise infrastructure at scale—this is your next big move.

What you will do

• Performs all leadership duties including, but not limited to, hiring and rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans to address performance gaps, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth and development, embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct and modeling Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.

• Responsible for sponsoring and planning projects intended to improve Alliant Energy’s short- and long-term infrastructure architecture, client computing architecture, data architecture, telecommunications architecture and strategy.

• Oversees infrastructure, telecommunications and client computing solutions, including defining, designing, developing platforms and tools for cost optimization and capability

• Designs and maintains telecommunications infrastructure including wireless, microwave, fiber, and copper technology. This role provides business directed design, implementation and support of voice and/or collaboration infrastructure, routers, antennas, towers, switching equipment, optical transmission equipment, splices, inside plant support infrastructure and site layouts.

• Responsible for strategic and long-range planning for all infrastructure & telecommunications programs to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information owned, controlled, or processed by Alliant Energy.

• Leads the planning, development, enhancement, and maintenance of the infrastructure & telecommunications plans from both a business and technology perspective.

• Engages with business representatives to design, implement and facilitate a globally standardized governance structure to infrastructure & telecommunications.

• Defines key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that align with business initiatives and delivers them to non-technical individuals in an effective, understandable manner.

• Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree STEM degree, or related field. Preferred

• Preferred one of the following: Infrastructure, network or telecommunications certification that requires obtaining at least 20 CPEs per year or capable of obtaining certification within two years; for example:

  • IT Information Library (ITIL)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP)

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional - Architecture (CISSP)

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Required Experience

• 8 years of related experience including the management of large information technology organizations.

• 6 years progressively more responsible management experience.

Pay Range:

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
