OVERVIEW AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Senior Tax Systems and Compliance Analyst leads process documentation, automation, and improvement initiatives within the Payroll Tax team. They create scalable, auditable, and clearly documented payroll tax procedures—while also building cross-functional knowledge to serve as an operational backup.

• Provide expert guidance on multi-state payroll tax regulations and compliance
• Analyze and improve payroll tax workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Utilize automation tools such as Alteryx (or similar platforms) to streamline processes
• Collaborate closely with Payroll and IT teams to align on data, processes, and system updates
• Lead or support tax-related testing, research, and implementation efforts
• Maintain a strong focus on payroll tax compliance, data integrity, and operational consistency
• ALL Acumen employees will be vigilant to support the positive compliant cybersecurity company posture by familiarizing themselves with all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines and act accordingly.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Business, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of multi-state payroll tax experience, with in-depth understanding of employer obligations and filing requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in process mapping, SOP creation, and workflow improvement—especially for tax processes.
• Experience in systems implementation
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Alteryx, Power Query, or macros, with the ability to build or support tax process automations.
• Strong tax technical skills, including the ability to research, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local tax rules to new or evolving processes.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, effective time management, task focus, and excellent interpersonal abilities. Brings patience, perseverance, and consistent follow-through to all assignments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic scripting).
• Working knowledge of relational databases or tax data systems.
