Description of Position

The Information Technology Department is seeking applicants to fill the Senior IT Security Analyst/Engineer position. This is an exempt, full-time, 12-month (1.0 FTE) position. This position has primary responsibility to manage the enterprise IT security and infrastructure functions for NNU. This position reports to the Director of Information Technology.


Essential Functions

  • This senior level position will be responsible for delivery of IT infrastructure and IT security services
  • Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality with sensitive University data
  • Manage NNU's enterprise IT security program to include: training, planning, reporting
  • Develop enterprise IT security training and awareness program
  • Develop IT security strategies and/or other initiatives
  • Oversee approved implementations
  • Work closely with all NNU staff, faculty and students to increase IT security awareness
  • Promote the services of Information Technology to NNU technology users
  • Negotiate agreements with technology vendors
  • Negotiate and manage contracts for NNU's IT infrastructure and related technologies
  • Keep abreast of industry trends as well as current and future technologies in higher education
  • Work closely with other members of the IT team on future strategic planning, DR planning and overall direction of IT
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with major in related area
  • Sufficient skills, knowledge and training to take full ownership of and responsibility for all essential functions of this position
  • Minimum of 5+ years of strong, progressively responsible enterprise IT security and network experience  
  • The University requires that all candidates be Christians (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with, in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU
  • Candidate are asked to respond to the information items listed on the NNU Christian Mission requirements
  • High motivation and commitment to the University, including the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, be able to multitask, problem-solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • Excellent strategic, customer service, people management, organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Broad and deep range of expertise in security and network technologies and principles
  • Ability to lead in an often chaotic environment of constant change
  • Ability to relate to end user needs and frustrations
  • Strong vendor management skills, with experience managing multiple vendor contracts
  • Strong collaborative and leadership skills with other team members
  • Must be dependable, with proven record of punctuality and consistent attendance
  • Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods with or without accommodation
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time with or without accommodation


Compensation

The salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant.
