Overview

The Information Technology (IT) Procurement department seeks a qualified individual to join the team who will be responsible for all compliance-related matters within the department. This position requires interface with suppliers and end-users and all levels of management within the company’s Information Technology, Cyber Security, Materials Management, Finance, Legal, and Contracts organizations. This is an on-site position located in Groton, CT.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze new regulations that may impact the department’s procurement of IT-related hardware and software
  • Keep current on new compliance trends and best practices
  • Develop contract terms and conditions with favorable terms and mitigate risk exposure while aligning with the company’s policies
  • Review and negotiate supplier exceptions
  • Track the status of contract lifecycle
  • Provide guidance and support to management, buyers, and end-users on all aspects of compliance-related matters
  • Review suppliers to ensure the company can conduct business with them
  • Ad-hoc projects as may be requested by management from time to time

Qualifications

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Legal, or Finance
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Contract negotiation and administration experience
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other import/export regulations
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS)
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy laws and regulations
  • Familiarity with IT-related hardware and various types of software contracting

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and adjust to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze, think critically, identify compliance risks, and determine practical solutions to compliance issues quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to complete all assigned tasks and meet established deadlines
  • Maintain high ethical standards and act with integrity
  • Experience prioritizing and independently managing projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially track changes feature)
  • Willingness to learn and ability to conduct online research of laws and regulations
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
