Your Team Responsibilities

On the forefront of the financial services industry, MSCI offers a fast-paced yet collegial environment, which is created through a strong culture of teamwork and close working relationships with different levels of management. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding, highly motivated candidate with strong data analytical skills to join our compliance team working out of Budapest or Monterrey.  MSCI is looking for applicants who are interested in the compliance field and eager to learn how a major provider of financial data and tools manages compliance operations from the ground up.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and review daily, weekly and monthly reports on various quarterly and more frequent testing and audit priorities such as trade monitoring, procedure adherence, record keeping, etc.
  • Provide data support for compliance manager oversight of regulated activities within MSCI such as EU Benchmark Regulation, UK Senior Manager Regime, EU and UK ESG ratings and data provider regulation and the US Investment Advisers Act of 1940
  • Maintain compliance platforms, control databases and information systems, including restricted lists, data feeds and IP whitelists and communicate with various departments to ensure data integrity
  • Review and monitor electronic communications for compliance violations and escalate suspicious activity

  • Assign employee trading designations to new employees and transferees
  • Interact with Corporate Applications team and third-party vendors regarding compliance platform issues
  • Conduct regular testing of systems environment
  • Track and report mandatory training and certification requirements
  • Monitor internal firewall logs for suspicious activity
  • Support the compliance department on key projects and activities

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Bachelor Degree in Business
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management or internal audit (surveillance or regulatory audit exposure a plus)
  • Interest in compliance, finance, and process design and desire to learn
  • Self-starter / ability to work independently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including in Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Sharepoint and Power BI
  • Excellent organizational skills and discipline to manage multiple parallel tasks to timely completion
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, including in a partially remote work environment
  • Basic understanding of financial industry
  • Basic knowledge of US, UK and EU regulations is a plus
