In this onsite role, you will be dedicated to one of our flagship clients based in Midtown Manhattan.
The Opportunity:
ECI is seeking a personable, enthusiastic, and qualified Systems Specialist to join our technical delivery team by working with a Client Technology Manager (CTM) and Senior Engineer to drive the technology programs, predominantly network related initiatives, but also assisting the existing team on Cloud/Infrastructure implementation and support for a client based in Midtown Manhattan. Using the latest and greatest technologies and solutions, you will support the client’s innovation by following a set of standards and best practices in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
What you will do:
- Troubleshoot/resolve complex issues and handle service requests related to Cisco routing and switching infrastructure, Cisco Meraki and legacy wireless infrastructure, as well as Palo Alto firewalls.
- Undertake network projects such as turning up a new client office infrastructure, setting up remote access VPNs and site to site VPNs, handling network refresh projects, etc., and strive to deliver within the deadline.
- Engage proactively with clients to comprehend their unique network requisites and collaboratively engineer tailored solutions that align with their goals.
- Execute tasks on enterprise switching, routing, security and wireless systems like VLAN changes, ACL updates, key rotations, and port reconfigurations
- Collaborate with, and act as a tier 3 escalation point for Client Technology Management, Service Desk, Engineering and other client support teams
- Provide accurate, comprehensive notes on work performed to account for time spent with customers
- Provide advanced support of cloud infrastructures such as Microsoft 365/Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Provide escalation support on common productivity technologies such as Microsoft 365 modern workplace including Intune
- Implement and manage enterprise mail platform and security systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Google Workspace, Proofpoint Essentials and Mimecast
- Take ownership of complex technical challenges and provide long term fixes based on root cause analysis
- Document processes and procedures which explain system functionality or regular tasks to contribute to our internal knowledge base including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Apply best-practice configurations to client security platforms such as Azure Active Directory Conditional Access, DUO Multifactor Authentication (MFA) services, and zero-trust services such as Cloudflare and iBoss
- Provide high-level consultation on information security fundamentals such as good password hygiene practices, multi-factor authentication recommendations and social-engineering defense
- Perform system maintenance tasks including software and operating system patching, software version upgrades, critical patch applications, and vulnerability remediation
- Provide support of Active Directory such as Domain Controller upgrades, Group Policy creation, scheduled software deployments, network policy maintenance, and certificate management
- Interface with common technology support tools such as Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), Mobile Device/Mobile Application Management, Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery and participate in after-hours client project implementations, migrations, and upgrades
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field, or 4+ years comparable experience in a technology administration role
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows Server and Windows 10/11
- Intermediate understanding of networking concepts: Routing, Switching, network security, hardware and software VPN clients
- Proficient with deployment and troubleshooting of operating systems and applications
- Android/iOS configuration, troubleshooting and integration with MDM solutions
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 modern workplace including Intune
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows Server and Windows 10/11
- Experience with cyber-security concepts (Multi-Factor Authentication, Endpoint protection, Web and Mail security platforms)
- Ability to perform patching and maintenance of systems
- Experience with backup configuration and data recovery
- Familiarity with enterprise management tools and tasks (vulnerability management, event management, RMM)
- Experience using PowerShell to manage Microsoft products
- Proficient in incident response management during security events and high-priority escalations, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity activations
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building and managing expectations
- Highly self-motivated and directed, in a fast-paced team environment
- Sharp attention to detail with proven analytical and critical thinking skills
- Effective time management and excellent prioritization skills
- Able to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary
- Able to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment such as computers, power supplies and servers in excess of 50lbs
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Managed Service Providers (MSP) preferred
- Financial Services or Life Science industry experience a plus
- Certifications in cloud services, network management or cyber-security, such as CCNA, CISSP, Azure Fundamentals and VCP a plus but not required
- Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop and Citrix digital workspace platform
