Informational Technology Cybersecurity Co-Op/InternWhere will you work:
FishHawk site located in Lithia, FL.
As an Informational Technology Cybersecurity Co-Op/Intern you will gain hands-on experience across multiple cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance domains. This role is designed for students passionate about protecting digital assets, understanding cyber threats, and contributing to a secure enterprise environment.
Term
September 8 to December 19, 2025
Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week.
Hybrid (90% remote, 10% on site)
9/80 schedule
What will you do?
In your role, you may rotate or contribute to projects in the following areas:
Cybersecurity Operations
Assist in monitoring security alerts and incidents.
Support incident response activities and documentation.
Help maintain and improve security tools and dashboards.
Architecture & Engineering
Participate in evaluating and testing security tools and technologies.
Assist in secure configuration reviews and vulnerability assessments.
Contribute to automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Support risk assessments and compliance audits (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC 2).
Help document policies, standards, and procedures.
Assist in third-party risk management and control evaluations.
Participate in Cybersecurity Security Awareness activities.
Insider Risk & Threat Intelligence
Research emerging threats and contribute to threat intelligence reports.
Support insider risk investigations and behavioral analytics.
Help maintain threat intelligence platforms and data feeds.
Support vulnerability identification using deployed vulnerability scanning tools
Research and assist with prioritization of recommendations for remediation of findings
Support vulnerability management workflow through ensuring that vulnerability items are assigned to the correct remediation teams and validating that items are properly closed once remediation is verified as being completed.

What do you need for this role?
Sophomore level or above pursuing a bachelor's Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineer, Cybersecurity, Data Science and/or Machine Learning.
2.75 GPA or higher
1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
Basic computer skills are required.
Experience working in a team environment is a must.
Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.
Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
