Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) All Domain Test Range (ADTR) and INDOPACOM Pacific-Rim Multi-Domain Training and Experimentation Capability Team, Joint Mission Environment Test Capability (JMETC) Secret Network (JSN) Node, JMETC Multiple Independent Levels of Security Network (JMN) Node, Secret Defense Research and Engineering Network (SDREN), Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN).

In this role, you will be a critical part of our team responsible for evaluating customer requirements pertaining to complex technical challenges.   We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with extensive experience in VMware, AWS, Azure, and secure authentication infrastructure to support unclassified and classified environments across government networks.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years with Virtualization platforms, Windows and Linux systems, Active Directory, PKI, and container technologies. You'll be responsible for building and managing secure cloud and virtualization platforms that meet mission, security, and compliance objectives across DoD and IC systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage hybrid infrastructure environments leveraging:
  • AWS GovCloud, Azure Government
  • VMware vSphere, NSX, vSAN, Horizon
  • Administer and harden both Windows Server and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) in secure enclaves.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain PKI infrastructures and enforce certificate-based authentication, encryption, and identity validation.
  • Manage and secure Active Directory, Azure AD, AD FS, and LDAP systems.
  • Architect and support containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift in hybrid or classified environments.
  • Implement secure authentication using:
    • MFA, CAC/PIV, Kerberos, SAML 2.0, OAuth2, GPOs
  • Automate deployments with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Ensure all systems meet NIST 800-53, FedRAMP High, DoD STIGs, and RMF requirements.
  • Prepare and support ATO packages, documentation, and eMASS system entries.
  • Participate in Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) implementations and collaborate across cyber, infrastructure, and security teams.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance (Full Scope Poly preferred)
  • 10+ years of VMware experience, including vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN
  • Strong experience with Windows and Linux administration
  • Deep expertise in Active Directory and PKI infrastructures
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS and/or Azure in secure or classified environments
  • Proficiency with container platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman
  • Expertise in secure authentication methods (MFA, CAC/PIV, SAML, OAuth, etc.)
  • Strong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% to classified or customer sites

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Industry certifications, such as:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • CISSP, Security+, or DoD 8570-compliant equivalents
  • Cross-domain solutions (CDS)
  • DoD or IC DevSecOps pipelines
  • SIEM/SOC integrations
  • Cloud-native security tooling (e.g., AWS GuardDuty, Azure Defender)
