[What the role is]

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and maintaining systems allocated to the Security and Events (SE) team. These include security systems, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), card access systems, Audio Visual (AV) systems, event management, car park systems, M&E systems and event venues. The role ensures optimal operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and proper maintenance of these systems to meet organizational needs.

[What you will be working on]

  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, upgrades, and other services related to security systems, such as CCTV and card access systems 
  • Supervise and manage outsource security services to ensure safety and security of campus occupants. 
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, upgrades, and services related to audio-visual equipment and M&E systems at key event venues, such as Auditorium, Theatres of Arts, board room, lounge, function rooms and meeting rooms etc. 
  • Manage and maintenance car park system in collaboration with outsourced car park management vendor.  
  • Manage and oversee the maintenance of Auditorium, Theatres of Arts and car parking lots building facilities such as building related work, seats, carpet, painting etc, cleaning, pest control and equipment. 
  • Provide event management at various locations such as Auditorium, Theatres of Arts, lounges, boardroom, function and meeting rooms, etc. 
  • Enhance service outcomes by improving management processes for service breakdowns, service requests, recoveries, and preventive maintenance. 
  • Identify, recommend, and implement addition and alteration work requests  
  • Liaise with government agencies and statutory boards with regards to implementation of new regulatory requirements and ascertain the adherence to existing regulatory requirements. 
  • Monitor and ensure actual expenditures for service repairs align with the requested budget 

[What we are looking for]

  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering or higher, with 3–5 years of relevant facilities management experience, particularly in M&E, security systems and event management. 
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (both verbal and written). 
  • Proven experience in managing outsourced service providers. 
  • Experience in security management or security risk management. 
  • Practical knowledge of operating and maintaining CCTV systems, card access systems, AV systems, and general building maintenance. 
  • A team player who's proactive, driven, and focused on delivering great service. 
  • Knowledge of data analytics or IT-related fields is an advantage. 
  • M&E experience is an advantage. 
  • Possession of relevant qualifications, such as a PLRD license, safety certifications, or equivalent, is highly beneficial.
