Training Specialist - Electronic Warfare Supervisor (EWS) Tactical Trainer

Our work depends on Training Specialist joining our team to develop and conduct lecture-based and over-the-shoulder Advanced Warfare Training for Fleet sailors in support of Surface Combat Systems Training Command Detachment Southwest (SCSTC Det SW) in San Diego, CA. This candidate would serve as a Journeyman Instructor to train officers and sailors in the operation and tactical employment of the SLQ-32 Electronic Warfare System, its interfaces, and associated equipment. Must have the ability to train others in the technical description, operation, and tactical employment of Electronic Warfare Systems on both Aegis and SSDS ships.
HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Position requires knowledge and experience with EW-related training systems such as BEWT and/or SEWTT, their integration into relevant host combat systems as well as adjacent EW systems. Responsibilities include training and evaluating watchstander performance in hardkill/softkill integration, sensor and weapons tactical employment techniques and effective internal and external communications. When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC courses supporting present and future course development.
Provides dynamic instruction as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of the SLQ-32 and Electronic Warfare Systems installed aboard Aegis and SSDS baselines.
Conducts assessment of the student watchstander’s ability to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.
Reviews and analyzes U.S. Navy Aegis and SSDS Combat System Capabilities and Limitations, Commanding Officer’s Battle Orders and Operational and Tactical doctrine to optimize electronic warfare systems employment in a diverse training environment.
Conduct classroom training and practical scenarios based on current Navy-wide operational tasking, Fleet best practices, doctrine and tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.
Supports Course Reviews and curriculum updates; conducts training gap analysis, provides formal feedback and recommendations for course improvement.
Develops, tests, maintains and delivers moderately complex scenario training programs and related materials in support of SCSTC training objectives.
Maintains records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
Qualifications: Five (5) years of experience as a CTT qualified as a SLQ-32 Electronic Warfare Operator/Supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in an apprentice level training environment.
Of the five years, one (1) year experience as an instructor or facilitator in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
Experience as a trainer/instructor and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.
Security Clearance Level: Active Secret Security Clearance
Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
Must be in physical condition to support embarkation on U.S. Navy ship underway.
Travel may be required up to 20% of time.

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
