We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join and expand our Systems Engineering team as the Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for one of our premier programs in the business unit.  In this role, you will be responsible for the IPT’s cost, schedule, and technical performance baseline.  You will work directly with Program leadership, other IPTLs, and external stakeholders to execute a multi-million-dollar contract.

This position is onsite in Richardson, TX, supporting a Government Customer’s Private On-Prem Cloud. This role is the IPT Lead for the Base Engineering aspect supporting the proposal, architecting, design, procurement, delivery, and O&M of the Infrastructure for their On-Prem Cloud instances at various locations. 

What You Will Do

  • Multidisciplinary team leadership through all phases of the product lifecycle, all while meeting or exceeding scheduled milestones for a Private Cloud offering

  • Drive strong execution of the IPT to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance to ensure products, systems and services are delivered in accordance with the scope of the contract requirements

  • Monitoring adherence of IPT budgets, plans, and schedules to support program execution

  • Support internal and external program reviews

  • Managing a Team of Smaller Teams within the IPT based on Program Increments

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience

  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams to manage cost, schedule, and technical performance for large-scale system development, onboarding new work, and supporting all proposal phases

  • Experience in performing systems engineering practices, including the development of system requirements, requirement derivation and solution analysis, as well as the creation of system designs, interface specifications, artifacts, and documentation

  • Experience with Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), including the development and processing of Baseline Change Requests (BCRs), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) management, and Variance Analysis Reports (VARs)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of program, customers, and technical leads (IPTs, chief engineers, architects)

  • Managing a Team of Smaller Teams within the IPT based on Program Increments/Sprints

  • Experience with Risk and Opportunity management

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
