Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in audit and assurance focus on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information enhancing the credibility and reliability of this information with a variety of stakeholders. They evaluate compliance with regulations including assessing governance and risk management processes and related controls.

Those in internal audit at PwC help build, optimise and deliver end-to-end internal audit services to clients in all industries. This includes IA function setup and transformation, co-sourcing, outsourcing and managed services, using AI and other risk technology and delivery models. IA capabilities are combined with other industry and technical expertise, in areas like cyber, forensics and compliance, to address the full spectrum of risks. This helps organisations to harness the power of IA to help the organisation protect value and navigate disruption, and obtain confidence to take risks to power growth.

Job Summary:

As an Audit Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of clients, managing the full cycle of your audit engagements. You will be actively involved in coaching, supporting, developing and managing energetic, diverse and high-performing teams.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, budgeting and organising the audits of your clients.

  • Managing engagements and ensuring timely completion thereof.

  • Focusing on building trusted relationships.

  • Delivering high quality client service, identifying and solving problems, addressing queries and concerns.

  • Reviewing the work undertaken by audit teams, including teams based in remote locations.

  • Acting to resolve issues which prevent effective team working, even during times of change and uncertainty.

  • Coaching others and encouraging them to take ownership of their development.

  • Pursuing opportunities to develop existing and new skills outside of comfort zone, e.g. digital upskilling and effective use of new technology.

  • Analysing complex issues, ideas or proposals and building a range of meaningful recommendations.

  • Using multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions.

  • Developing a perspective on key global trends, and how they impact the firm and our clients.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA or ICAEW or equivalent)

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential skills:

  • Relevant experience as an Audit Manager (minimum three years post-qualification, and at least one year experience in an Audit Manager role), preferably from a Big 4 firm.

  • Strong grasp of business and technical issues and industry trends.

  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels with a proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships.

  • Excellent organisational and management skills.

  • To excel in this role, you will have a passion for client service, be innovative and solutions orientated, be able to work collaboratively.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience working with clients in financial services sector.

Travel Requirements:

Limited travel will be required in this role.
