As part of our separation from our parent company, Medtronic, we are building a standalone organization with leaders to enable strategic growth and operational excellence (link to press release Medtronic Diabetes intent to separate). To that end, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead our cybersecurity initiatives and ensure the protection of our critical data and infrastructure.

Job Summary:
The CISO will be responsible for developing and implementing the organization's global information security strategy, policies, programs, and technology. This role will safeguard the company's data, systems, and networks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The CISO will collaborate closely with executive leadership, IT, business leadership, and regulatory bodies to embed security into all aspects of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity program to mitigate risks and protect sensitive information.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance:
Lead risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOX), and best practices.
Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
Incident Response and Threat Management:
Oversee the design and execution of an incident response plan to address security breaches promptly.
Monitor and manage emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
Lead post-incident investigations and provide recommendations for future prevention.
Technology and Operations:
Implement and maintain advanced security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure architecture and system designs.
Drive the adoption of security tools and practices across the organization.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing cybersecurity team.
- Provide training and awareness programs to employees to promote a culture of security.
Collaboration and Communication:
Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on cybersecurity risks and opportunities.
Prepare and present regular reports on the state of the company’s security posture to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
Foster partnerships with external organizations, vendors, and law enforcement agencies to enhance the security ecosystem.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
15+ years of progressive experience in information security, including leadership roles.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful cybersecurity strategies in complex environments.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical audiences.
