The Oracle Security CTO group is seeking an innovative Safety and Assurance Architect (IC6) to advance Oracle’s approach to safety, spanning technical, operational, and human aspects. In this influential, hands-on role you will architect and embed new safety mechanisms, define resilient system designs, and champion processes that empower people to make better and safer decisions—protecting Oracle’s technology, customers, and reputation.

You will collaborate across engineering, operations, and leadership teams, applying proactive and holistic risk management. Your work will help Oracle safely deliver transformative technologies like cloud, AI, and cryptography, while ensuring systems perform predictably and resiliently, even in the face of human error or novel threats.

• Architect and drive the adoption of safety-enhancing mechanisms, resilient architectures, and assurance frameworks across Oracle Cloud platforms.
• Define and implement processes that enable users and operators to make safe, informed decisions—minimizing complexity, errors, and risk.
• Lead comprehensive risk assessments and scenario planning addressing both technical and organizational threats to safety and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and compliance teams to build systems that are secure, reliable, and operate safely under real-world conditions.
• Innovate new ways to anticipate, detect, and mitigate emerging safety risks, including those introduced by evolving technologies (AI, cryptography, etc.).
• Advocate for a human-centered approach to system and process design, instilling safety into Oracle’s engineering culture.
• Develop and promote standards and best practices for operational assurance, reliability, and safe cloud service delivery.
• Represent the Safety and Assurance vision in cross-company and industry forums, influencing both policy and technology direction.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
