:  

This is a project-linked requirement to be filled as soon as possible. In view of the nature and of the urgency of this temporary position, it is important for candidates to be available for project-linked employment asap. In practice, this implies being in possession of a valid security clearance at the time of application or having been in possession of such a clearance with the possibility to reactivate it swiftly. Therefore, candidates possessing a valid NATO or National security clearance will be given priority consideration.

 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

We are hiring highly motivated individuals to support the NAEW&C Force IT/CIS systems and services, and to serve as the Force focal point for Cyber Defense and CIS Security matters. In this role, you will provide technical solutions and risk mitigation recommendations related to Cyber Defense and CIS Security. Your contributions will have a direct impact on maximizing the organization's overall security posture.

 

The ideal candidate will hold a university degree - or higher secondary education combined with completed vocational training leading to a professional qualification - in information security, computer science, or a related field, and will have substantial and in-depth professional experience in the relevant area. They should demonstrate the ability to comply with Cyber Defense and CIS Security requirements and regulations; conduct audits and inspections; produce status reports; and maintain CIS Security accreditations. Additionally, they will bring the ability to contribute to the development of policies and guidelines and apply best practices regarding requirements, standards, technologies and products. A good command of English is required, as well as a working/advanced knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems.

 

Experience with MS Windows and UNIX operating system network operations, administration, and security, would be considered an asset. Recent experience as a Cyber Defense or CIS Security Manager for medium- to large-scale local or wide area networks is highly desirable. Experience working in an international and/or military environment, along with additional subject-related certifications, is also a strong advantage.

YOUR TEAM

 

You will be part of the Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Squadron within the Base Support Wing (SW). The SW is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of all support functions on the Main Operating Base (MOB). The CIS Squadron is responsible for the management of all assigned IT Systems and Services throughout their life cycle in support of the NAEW&CF’s mission including the Forward Operating Bases and Locations (FOBs/L).

CONTRACT

 

The successful candidate will fill this post as a Project Related NATO International Civilian (PLN) with a three-year definite duration contract. On expiry of this term, the PLN will be deleted or absorbed into the ceiling pending approval or, exceptionally, will be considered for extension.

 

For serving NATO international Civilians: contract will be offered in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations and the additional Nations’ guidance (MCM-0061-2023 for NATO 2030 Project Linked NICs). The selected staff member will get a definite duration contract regardless of the current contract, with the exception of the case when they have more than 10 years of service, in which case they will receive an indefinite duration contract.

 

Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.
