Job SummaryThe Vice President of Cybersecurity is responsible for leading the credit unionās cybersecurity operations, architecture, and engineering functions. This role ensures the protection of digital assets, member data, and critical infrastructure through proactive threat detection, incident response, and secure technology implementation. The VP will drive innovation in security tooling, lead a high-performing technical team, and collaborate with IT and business leaders to embed security into all aspects of the technology lifecycle.Job DescriptionLOCATION

SCHEDULE

Cybersecurity Operations
- Oversee 24/7 security operations center (SOC) partners and activities, including threat monitoring, detection, and response.
- Oversee vulnerability management, penetration testing, and red/blue team exercises.
- Oversee incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident reviews.
- Develop and manage the cybersecurity budget, roadmap, and vendor relationships.
- Directs the development of techniques and procedures for responding to IS/IT security risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents ensuring the prevention and detection of intrusion and data loss.
- Works closely with MACUās Risk Management and Internal Audit teams to address IT security risks for both ongoing and planned operations.
Security Architecture & Engineering
- Design secure architectures for cloud, network, and endpoint environments.
- Evaluate and assist in deployment of advanced security technologies.
- Partner with IT and Digital Solutions teams to ensure secure system configurations and DevSecOps practices.
- Ā Identifies and executes security objectives to respond to threat intelligence, risks, and business objectives of the credit union.
- Works in conjunction with other Risk and Technology VPās, as well as other team members and business units, to strike a balance between security and usability.
- Oversee IAM strategy, including privileged access management (PAM), single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Ensure least privilege and zero trust principles are applied across the enterprise.
Security Awareness & Culture
- Lead enterprise-wide security awareness and phishing simulation programs.
- Promote a culture of security-first thinking across all departments.
- Partner with learning management teams to facilitate team member cybersecurity education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Education and Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Ā Credit Union or Banking experience is a plus.Ā Experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS), endpoint protection, and network defense.
- Bachelorās in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
- CISSP, CISM and/or CISA certification or equivalent preferred.
