Job Description

As a Senior Application Security Developer, you will embed “security-first” into every layer of our software stack. You’ll work within our Cloud Engineering team and partner closely with backend (.NET) and frontend (Angular) teams to proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities, build security gates into CI/CD pipelines, design for security into an Azure cloud native architecture, and mentor colleagues to elevate our security culture. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Secure by Design: Integrate threat modeling and design reviews early in the development lifecycle. 

• Cloud Security Engineering: Design and implement Azure-native security controls (Key Vault, Managed Identities, Policy, Defender for Cloud), container hardening (AKS, ACR), and AI-driven workloads and telemetry systems. 

• Hands-On Remediation: Dive into the codebase – including .NET services, Angular UIs, and infrastructure as code repositories – to directly implement fixes, libraries, and secure patterns. 

• Pipeline Protection: Build and maintain security checks (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning) in Azure DevOps pipelines. 

• Security Evangelism: Act as a Security Champion—run workshops, code clinics, and knowledge sharing sessions to spread best practices. 

• Vulnerability Management: Triage and track findings from pentests and tooling, ensuring timely closure and continuous improvement. 

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Advise product owners, QA, and operations on secure configurations, secrets management, and incident response playbooks. 

What You’ll Learn & Contribute 

• Master modern AppSec tooling: static analysis, dynamic scanning, dependency auditing, Azure Defender, Azure Policy, and Key Vault integrations. 

• Gain deep experience securing cloud-native, containerized platforms on Azure (AKS, ACR). 

• Shape secure development workflows: integrating security gates without impeding delivery velocity. 

• Foster a security mindset across agile teams, amplifying the impact of your expertise. 

• Contribute to real-world protection of infrastructure-critical decision analytics used by global enterprises. 

Qualifications

You have the following background, although we also recognize that talent comes in many forms:  

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years architecting cloud-native solutions on Azure. 

• Strong mastery of C#, .NET, and containerized applications. 

• Fluent in the use of modern AI tooling, such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, and AI-enhanced IDEs, to accelerate coding, testing, refactoring, and documentation workflow. 

• Proven track record designing serverless applications and Kubernetes-based platforms. 

• Hands-on with infrastructure as code (Bicep, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines. 

• Excellent communicator and mentor, passionate about sharing knowledge and uplifting teams. 

• Actively follows developments in the AI ecosystem, with a mindset of continuous learning and experimentation to apply the latest advancements in cloud architectures, productivity, and code quality. 

• Self-driven, pragmatic problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

What We’re Offering

• Salary Range: $115 - $145k CAD
