Position Overview

Leidos is seeking a mid-level Network Architecture Engineer to support the High Fidelity Simulation (HFS) Portfolio under a Department of Defense (DoD) contract. We architect and implement large-scale System of Systems solutions in support of world class simulation, training, and analysis products for the US Navy. You will be part of a multidisciplinary IT team supporting multiple network enclaves, including classified and unclassified environments. These enclaves span on-premises government sites, contractor facilities, and cloud environments. The team’s efforts include building and enhancing DevSecOps pipelines, IT engineering to maintain and improve infrastructure, help desk support for enclave users, and cybersecurity operations. Network Architecture Engineers are responsible for providing network architecture design, engineering, and deployment, and cybersecurity engineering services for 1) local area and wide area development networks running both Linux (primarily) and Windows, at both a Leidos facility and a government facility, and 2) local area networks that tie together the computing nodes of the trainers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative solutions to complex technical issues and problems

  • Provide networking engineering expertise for new and legacy network enclaves

  • Assist in developing new policies, design processes, and procedures, and develop technical designs to secure the development environment and trainer systems

  • Assist with maintaining a strong cybersecurity posture

  • Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation strategies, validate secure systems, and test security products and systems to detect security weakness

Required Education

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree. Candidate must be 8570.1-M / DoD 8140 compliant with certifications of IAT Level II (such as Security+, SSCP, or CISSP as well as Linux+, RHCE, Network+, or CCNA (or better))

Required Experience

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government granted security clearance. Interim Secret security clearance required to begin employment.

  • Must have 4+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor's or 2+ years of relevant experience with Master's.

  • Experience to include:

    • Network architecture design, engineering, and deployment, and cybersecurity engineering services

    • Design and deployment of on-premises and cloud based network infrastructure

    • Securing networks and supporting cybersecurity initiatives

  • Must have past experience with, and demonstrate the skills and capabilities to successfully execute the duties and responsibilities of this position

  • Must be experienced with networking Linux based devices.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with Atlassian Products, such as JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket

  • Experience with Windows administration, specifically Windows 10, DISA SHB, and Windows Server 2012

  • Experience with Linux system administration

  • Experience in cybersecurity 

  • Experience capturing user requirements and working with customers to develop and resolve technical solutions

  • Proficiency with network access controls, data packet capture, network traffic analysis, and vulnerability assessment and remediation 

  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with a range of teams, customers and service providers

  • Thorough knowledge of the OSI model and troubleshooting techniques based on the model

  • Experience with establishing and maintaining classified encrypted connections using NSA Type-1 Encryption devices

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
