Objective and Purpose

The Solutions Architect Manager, is responsible for leading the team of Solution Architects.   He/she is responsible for developing consistent best practices to effectively demonstrate Ascom’s products and services to prospective and existing customers.  They provide subject matter input, and participate in pre-sales activities to support his/her team.   In addition, he/she is responsible for the development of required technical competencies within the Team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Oversees the roles in the pre-sales Solution Architect team, constantly ensures      that the colleagues in these positions effectively execute their responsibilities and    tasks.  Lead, manage and provide guidance to team, motivate and achieve steady    improvements
  • Ensure ongoing development and updated technical skills of team members
  • Provide technical expertise and enable own team to support sales in the bid and    proposal process
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments
  • Interface at all levels within a customer’s organisation and coordinate highly    technical information, business proposals and emerging requirements
  • Get actively involved in the development of Ascom’s products and services
  • Drive systematic and continuous improvement of all Solution Architecture    processes, to maximise the global performance & to meet strategic targets, working    cross-functionally with relevant functions.
RequirementsQualifications and Work Experience
  • Master or Engineer Degree in Technology, or an equivalent working experience
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in global, multi-cultural environment
  • 1- 5 years of experience in medical technology capital equipment sales, healthcare    professional services sales or network infrastructure sales engineering experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in technical sales support function
Skills and Competencies
  • Highly skilled and knowledgeable about Ascom products portfolio: deep knowledge of and technical expertise in Ascom systems and solutions
  • Strong network knowledge (certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or CWNA or other specialized certifications such as security CISSP, CCSP, ideal)
  • Knowledge of server and desktop virtualization (Virtual Machine Certifications VCP, ideal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications, specifically presenting technical solutions to customers
  • Excellent Leadership Skills; high ability to build and manage high-performing teams and to coach individuals
  • Strong customer focus and stakeholder’s management skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organise self and manage priorities within team
