Zero Trust Engineer

ASSYST is seeking a Zero Trust Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) capabilities with a focus on endpoint protection, identity, and cloud security.

This position is contingent upon contract award. 
Location: Remote with periodic on-site meetings in Washington, DC
Clearance: Public Trust (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities: 

• Deploy and manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint agents across enterprise systems.
• Integrate Zero Trust controls within Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
• Implement and optimize Zero Trust policies including network segmentation, device trust, and adaptive authentication.
• Align system configurations and security posture with DHS and OMB Zero Trust guidance and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cybersecurity resilience through ZTA strategies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Zero Trust Architecture, cloud security, or identity management.
• Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Intune, Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), Microsoft Defender, and Zscaler.
• Demonstrated experience deploying and managing Group Policy Objects (GPO) and Active Directory (AD)-based security policies using scripting or automation tools.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards relevant to federal environments.
