About Out the Team:

The Chief Information Security Office (CISO) is home to deeply talented colleagues that work to ensure the safety of Citi's clients', our revenue, our employees and our proprietary data. We manage information security as one end-to end program – one with a clear mandate and accountability. Our mission is a program that is fully anchored to modern control and architectural frameworks, is fully aligned with the enterprise architecture of the firm and is deeply integrated into the sectors and functions.

 

The Senior Information Security Officer for Payments is a senior management position responsible for partnering strongly with the Services Business and Technology teams to protect the bank, securely enable the business and manage cybersecurity risk.  This leadership role runs a large global organization of cyber professionals within the Chief Information Security Office.  The role requires a strategic, progressive leader, passionate about driving change, with transformation experience, able to balance the complicated demands of driving business value, customer / employee experience and managing cyber risk.  The person must be a strong leader, with deep integrity and ethics, and understand the power in human centered leadership and the potential of high performing teams. The role reports to the Global Head of Cybersecurity for Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor: Manage a global team of Information Security professionals, fostering their professional development and ensuring their success.

  • Strategic Risk Management: Develop and implement information security strategies that effectively mitigate risk across the organization. This includes conducting risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending appropriate controls.

  • Policy and Control Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and procedures. Ensure these align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaboration and Guidance: Partner with business and technology teams to provide expert guidance on information security matters. Facilitate risk-based decisions that balance security requirements with business needs.

  • Security Awareness: Promote a strong security culture within the organization through training, communication, and awareness programs.

  • Incident Response: Oversee and contribute to incident response activities, ensuring timely and effective containment and remediation of security incidents.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Monitor compliance with information security policies and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present regular reports on the state of information security to senior management.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging threats and technologies, continuously evaluating and improving our security posture.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Cybersecurity or related leadership roles within Financial Services or other highly regulated environments.

  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business, risk, technology, and governance functions in a banking context.

  • Demonstrated success in building, leading, and scaling global cybersecurity teams that align with financial institution priorities

  • Deep understanding of Modern Cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., CRI, NIST, ISO), with practical application to Banking Operations, Architecture, and Controls.

  • Ability to translate technical cyber and operational risk into actionable business insights that support cyber defense, resilience, and customer trust.

  • Direct experience navigating Complex Regulatory landscapes (e.g., FFIEC, OCC, FDIC, GDPR, NYDFS), with a focus on aligning security strategies to evolving banking requirements.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Information Security, Information Technology or related field

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
