Software Engineer – Cybersecurity (Multiple Openings)
Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer – Cybersecurity will engage in the design, development, implementation, and testing of SEL firmware and software systems in connection with cybersecurity-related SEL R&D initiatives. The incumbent will apply the principles of computer science and information technology and: (1) collaborate with SEL Hardware Engineers and develop and refine an understanding of SEL hardware and software interactions; (2) refine a strong working knowledge of SEL’s power systems and related technologies and the interplay of those technologies with SEL’s software and firmware systems; (3) identify, measure, follow, and improve SEL’s systems software engineering, cybersecurity, and associated R&D processes by closely studying, discussing, and questioning those procedures in meetings with more senior engineers; (4) review all Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) created or modified during a project and provide detailed analysis from a cybersecurity standpoint; (5) identify potential vulnerabilities in software requirements and propose solutions to mitigate risks; (6) collaborate with the software development teams to ensure secure coding practices are followed; (7) develop and implement security protocols and procedures in line with industry best practices and foster a culture of security awareness across R&D, educating members about the latest cybersecurity threats and prevention measures; (8) conduct regular security audits and propose enhancements; and (9) act as a key point of contact for all cybersecurity related issues and queries.
Salary Range: $108,600.00 - $114,600.00 per year.
