You’ll collaborate across security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, and security engineering contributing to a culture of vigilance, innovation and continuous improvement.

This is an Auckland based hybrid role with three days in the office – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

We sat down with the People Leader (who you would report to) and they told us the following about the role:

What is the team culture and environment like?

We are a supportive and highly motivated team with a wide range of skills and experience. We love creative thinkers and problem solvers, and we like sharing what we've done within and outside the team.

What is your management style?

My management style is people-focused and outcomes-driven. I like to give my team a clear sense of direction, and then trust them to get on with it – while always bring available to support, coach or jump on if needed. I am big on open-communication and creating a space where people feel comfortable asking questions or challenging ideas.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

BNZ is investing heavily in cyber protection. This team is an amazing place to be if you like being on the cutting edge of cyber security; learning new skills and getting involved in new capabilities and technologies.

What is your favourite thing about working for BNZ?

Six weeks of Annual leave and the beautiful new office!

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

We are looking for someone who can lead and mentor security engineering teams, have the ability to develop and enforce security policies, frameworks, and architectures. They will work on evaluating and implementing security technologies (SIEM, SOAR, IDP, EDR etc.) and ensuring security measures align with compliance and regulatory requirements.
