SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

….Do you lie awake at night, thinking of NIST SP800-63-3? Do you get shivers when you hear the words “service account”? Does “zero trust” actually mean something to you? As they say, Identity is the new perimeter, and it could be your new frontier here at Pure Storage.

The Global Information Security Office (GISO) at Pure is seeking a Technical Project Manager to coordinate key initiatives within our Identity and Access Management (IAM) program. This role will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IAM projects across the enterprise, ensuring alignment with business objectives, security standards, and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT and security projects, supporting the execution of cross-functional IAM and security projects, and understands IAM principles such as identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, role-based access control, privileged access, and governance. There will be opportunities for growth while working with peers in other project management groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for IAM initiatives, including but not limited to identity lifecycle automation, SSO/MFA rollouts, role-based access control (RBAC), IGA platform implementations, and PAM integrations.
  • Partner with IAM architects and engineers to translate technical solutions into executable project plans.
  • Define scope, schedule, milestones, deliverables, and resource needs for multiple concurrent IAM projects.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation including roadmaps, risk logs, status reports, and change requests.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across IT, Security, HR, Compliance, and business units to gather requirements and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor progress and manage risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Ensure IAM projects align with enterprise security policies, compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, NIST), and zero trust strategies.
  • Support vendor management and third-party integration efforts for IAM tools.
  • Drive adoption of IAM governance frameworks, processes, and standards.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • 2+ years of project management experience in IT or security programs.
  • Fundamental understanding of IAM concepts such as identity provisioning, SSO, MFA, RBAC, PAM, and IGA.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional technical projects in enterprise environments.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, or MS Project.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Interest in obtaining PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Technical background in systems, cloud, or IAM engineering a plus.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive alignment across technical and business teams.
  • Detail-oriented, highly accountable, and results-driven.
  • Passion for improving process maturity and enabling secure digital transformation.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
