Responsibilities

The Opportunity 

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Governance and Stewardship Associate Manager to join our Global Insights team at PepsiCo. This role is responsible for leading the governance and stewardship of external data sources, ensuring adherence to enterprise data standards, driving data quality initiatives, and managing relationships with key Market Insights data providers.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data management, a strong understanding of syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, Circana), and the ability to operate across global markets in a fast-paced, matrixed organization. You will work cross-functionally with IT, business units, and external partners to implement standardized onboarding processes, ensure compliance with data policies, and promote data accuracy and usability across the enterprise.

Success in this role requires strong technical proficiency, including experience with SQL, Python for data automation and transformation, and Power BI, with advanced knowledge of DAX for data modeling and process automation. This is a critical role that combines strategic thinking, hands-on technical execution, and stakeholder management to support PepsiCo’s data-driven decision-making and digital transformation.

  

Your Impact  

 

As Data Gov. & Stewardship Assoc Manager your scope would consist of

 

• Lead the end-to-end engagement with Market Insights data vendors (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, Circana), including inquiries, access management, annual updates, data quality reviews, issue resolution, coverage tracking, and vendor performance reporting.• Develop and enforce global policies for onboarding and sustaining second- and third-party data into PepsiCo environments.• Partner with the Data Ecosystem team to align external data sources with PepsiCo’s data standards and ensure compliance across systems.• Continuously refine vendor onboarding processes in collaboration with external partners to drive operational efficiency.• Promote data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with PepsiCo’s enterprise data governance principles across business units and data consumers.• Advise stakeholders and vendors on data governance requirements, including usage guidelines, business rules, and compliance policies.• Create and distribute recommendations and documentation to support the implementation of new or revised data standards and governance protocols.• Coordinate with fellow Enterprise Data Stewards, the EDG (Enterprise Data Governance) team, and other functional stakeholders to maintain consistent governance practices across digital, operational, and analytical data assets.• Ensure alignment of data-centric initiatives with the broader EDG strategy, promoting the adoption of standardized definitions, governance frameworks, and best practices.• Lead data quality assessments and analysis to evaluate completeness, accuracy, and fitness for business purposes.• Design and implement data quality rules; monitor and track key DQ metrics to proactively manage issues.• Perform data privacy and compliance assessments for new data sources, ensuring alignment with corporate and regulatory standards.• Conduct root cause analysis for data quality issues and drive resolution plans in collaboration with source teams.• Maintain and advocate for the enterprise-level catalog of critical data elements across external data domains using Informatica (EDC and Axon).• Track and report key data management metrics to support governance maturity and continuous improvement.• Support consumer data domain initiatives, including reviews of DATs and DRDs, catalog template updates, and database quality checks.• Drive automation efforts to streamline processes and reduce manual workload in data stewardship tasks.

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?  

 

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management, preferably within a global Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company or a similar industry.• In-depth understanding of Market Insights data sources such as Nielsen, Kantar, and Circana.• Strong background in data lifecycle management, including data ingestion, consumption, quality assessment, and stewardship.• Proven ability to collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders to drive the adoption of enterprise-wide data standards and governance policies.• Experience conducting data quality assessments, root cause analysis, and implementing remediation strategies.• Proficient in data tools and technologies, including:o SQL for querying and data analysiso Python for automation, data transformation, and advanced analyticso Databricks for collaborative data engineeringo Informatica Suite (EDC and AXON) for data governance and catalogingo Power BI, with advanced skills in DAX for data modeling, complex calculations, and automation beyond visualizationso Advanced Excel skills for structured analysis and reporting• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards related to external data sources.• Ability to manage cross-functional collaboration across global teams and influence adoption of governance practices.• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.• Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed environments with shifting priorities and multiple stakeholders.
