About the Role


Babcock is expanding, and we're seeking a talented Cloud and Security Architect to join our dynamic team! This role can be based from our International Engineering and Technology Hub in Abbotsford, Victoria or our Regional Head Office in Adelaide.

In this pivotal role, you'll work alongside our Information Security Manager to architect and secure cutting-edge Azure environments, driving the adoption of modern DevOps practices and automation with Desired State Configuration. Your work will be integral to building scalable, enterprise-grade solutions that meet the highest standards of security and performance.

This is more than just a technical role—you'll collaborate with IT leaders, developers, and security stakeholders to align innovative solutions with strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with ASD ISM and the Essential Eight. Whether it's leading migration projects, designing hybrid cloud ecosystems, or mentoring your peers, you'll be making a real impact across the business.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
• Proven experience as a Technical Architect in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
• Deep understanding of Azure instance capabilities and limitations.
• Strong background in security architecture, threat modelling, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, DSC).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, TOGAF) highly desirable.
• Experience operating in Defence Security Principles (E8 etc.)
