Wells Fargo is seeking a highly organized and strategic Senior Information Security Engineer with a strong background in project management to lead cross-functional security initiatives within Network Security. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical security expertise and program execution, with a passion for building roadmaps, aligning teams, and driving security maturity across the organization.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage complex security projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed security program roadmaps, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, Risk, and Compliance, to ensure timely execution of security initiatives.
  • Track and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Support security architecture and engineering efforts by translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Drive adoption of security best practices and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Facilitate risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.
  • Contribute to policy development, security awareness training, and audit readiness.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in project or program management capacity.
  • Experience tracking and reporting on project progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Ability to drive the adoption of security best practices and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 7001, CIS Controls).
  • Experience with facilitating risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.
  • Experience maintaining detailed security program roadmaps, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, IAM, endpoint protection).
  • Proven experience managing security projects using Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or MS Project.
  • Splunk experience
