The Export Control and Trade Compliance Manager assists sourcing, compliance, and legal teams in ensuring company adherence to international trade regulations, including export controls and sanctions laws, promotes economic interests, risk management and market access, promotes global relations, and ensures adherence to various laws and regulations governing international trade and National Security for the Timken Gears & Services and Timken Motor Companies of Timken Power Systems. The position reports to the Senior Managing Counsel – Power Systems.
Responsibilities include:
Manage all global trade and contract compliance issues for the business
Facilitate and assist on operational transactions/movements for direct and indirect export transactions, as well as all Imports
Responsible for all classifications, including ECCN, HTS, COO and product/portfolio jurisdictions (EAR-ITAR) and related government reporting
Attend meetings and seminars to ensure that our compliance tools and skill sets remain current
Manage the due diligence process with World Headquarters via Exiger; and assist with sales representative and distributor agreements as requested
Experience with supporting cybersecurity compliance and controlled unclassified information protection a plus
Basic Qualifications:
Senior manager expertise in trade and related contract compliance in a business environment
Trade compliance understanding and the ability to coordinate conformance activity across entities
Ability and experience to read and analyze complex specifications and contracts
Requires excellent communication skill
Must have demonstrated skills in risk management and mitigation within the commercial contracting environment
Ability to multi-task and manage competing projects
Business acumen
Bachelor’s degree in business; paralegal degree a plus
A minimum of 15 years of experience in contract review and risk mitigation
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
