Key Responsibilities

  • Incident Management:

    • Act as the Incident Commander for major service and application-related incidents.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for communications during incidents, ensuring accurate and timely updates.

    • Assess timelines to resolution and escalate as necessary.

    • Communicate incident status and post-incident updates effectively to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Operate in a 24/7 environment, participating in on-call rotations as required.

    • Multitask during complex incidents, managing communications and coordinating troubleshooting efforts across teams.

  • Automation & Tooling:

    • Identify repetitive operational tasks and build automation to eliminate manual intervention.

    • Develop, maintain, and improve infrastructure health dashboards and monitoring tools.

  • Reliability & Resiliency:

    • Partner with teams across the organization to design and implement High Availability (HA) and Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BCDR) strategies.

    • Ensure reliability targets are met through proactive measures, monitoring, and testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven operational experience in a 24/7 production environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in incident management, including leading incident response calls.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills, especially under high-pressure situations.

  • Hands-on experience building automation using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) or configuration management tools.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and dashboarding tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).

  • Understanding of HA/BCDR principles and their implementation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Familiarity with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Systems Engineering.

  • Experience conducting post-incident reviews (PIRs) and driving long-term improvements.
