Summary/objective The IT Security Analyst has a strong understanding of cybersecurity policies, risk management, and threat mitigation. Skilled in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents to protect enterprise systems and data. Adept at implementing security best practices, managing security tools, and ensuring compliance working with the IT Security Engineer. Essential functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, using security tools and incident detection systems. • Investigate and respond to security incidents and alerts, conducting root cause analysis, and document findings. • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures. • Conduct regular vulnerabiltiy assessments and coordinate remediation efforts with IT teams. • Manage access controls, identity and privilege management across systems and platforms. • Maintain and support security tools including Cortex XDR, Microsoft Defender Suite, Ninja RMM, Microsoft Sentinal, and other related software • Perform security audits and contribute to compliance efforts • Stay current on emergeing threats, vulnerabilities, and security news to enhance defensive posture. • Support incident response planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies. • Assist IT Security Engineer after breaches or incidents • Manage a 24/7 global monitoring and threat detection environment • Complete regular security awareness and best practices training • Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover all possible activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience • 2 - 4 years of experience in IT security operations, threat monitoring, or incident response. • Proficiency with endpoint protection tools, vulnerability scanners, and identity/access management systems. Preferred Qualifications: • AWS and/ or Azure Cloud Security Cetifications • Experience with Palo Alto or Cisco Networking Devices • Demonstrates meticulus attention to detail by following established procedures, monitoring controls, and spotting key errors • Demonstrates strong ethical behavior • Demonstrates ability to work under pressure with use of efficient time management skills in a face-paced environment • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability work both independently and in a team environment to achieve both personal and department/corporate goals Supervisory responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers. Physical demands Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
