2025 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

 

For 2025, NuScale Power is will be doing a national search to fill multiple paid internship opportunities that for the summer.  Each of these positions will be remote for the majority of the time, with an option to work in NuScale’s Corvallis, OR offices during the summer pending circumstances surrounding COVID-19 guidelines.  Our teams will work with interns on flexible work schedules so school can remain a priority, with 40 hours/week during the summer and breaks.

  • Information Technology
  • Plant Services Development

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in an accredited, 4-year undergraduate degree program at a Junior or Senior standing, a recent graduate, pursuing an advanced degree.  Due to timeliness and our necessary compliance with obtaining government approved authorizations, consideration is limited to those students currently eligible to work in the United States per 10 CFR Part 810 rules, and we are unable to consider students authorized to work on F-1 or M-1 Visas.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  This internship opportunity will be in the Plant Startup and Services department. The successful candidate will be a student or new graduate of a four-year accredited education in business or finance.  Work will center on the development of plant services with a focus on the business plans, but may also include other duties as assigned by the VP of Regulatory Affairs and Services. General tasks include research of document repositories and preparation of reports and databases.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in the development and evaluation of service offerings and solutions for nuclear power plants
  2. Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to nuclear plant operations and maintenance
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions
  4. Present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of project progress and results
  6. Communicate with Plant Services Team members and engineering staff for Plant Services document review and comment resolution.
  7. Use software including: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, document management and document storage.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Quality Assurance:  Commits to the understanding of implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1.

 

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Education: Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited undergraduate (Junior or Senior standing), a recent graduate or graduate program in Business or Finance. 
  • Experience: Must have a solid understanding of business and finance principles and theories. Required to demonstrate a strong aptitude in technical writing and have good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills.  Must possess exceptional organization skills and an ability to sort through multiple document platforms and produce consistent, detailed and error free output.
  • Industry Requirements:  Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
