This is an onsite position in Tallahassee, Florida.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
DEP’s Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) is currently seeking a Systems Project Analyst. This position provides information technology (IT) programming/workflow development of DEP IT projects involving the long-range planning, analysis, design, and implementation of the agency’s mission-critical information technology systems and applications. The incumbent of this position will represent OTIS and must be helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful, and courteous at all times in the interactions with customers.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide support to agency staff using Qlik Sense Enterprise software. Assist with the roll out and user adoption of the product throughout the agency by facilitating training sessions, developing guidelines, creating templates, and identifying best practices to assist users with their own Qlik Sense app development.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues when needed. Coordinate with product support vendor to escalate and resolve any issues.
- Administer and manage Qlik Sense resources using Qlik Management Console (QMC).
- Monitor system/server performance to ensure that it is functioning efficiently for end users and program areas are using the system appropriately.
- Coordinate testing of new product/patch releases prior to their deployment to ensure compatibility and minimize end user impacts.
- Develop data visualization dashboards internally for OTIS upon request.
- Oversee ‘special’ assignments/initiatives, as needed. This may include taking on new role(s), responsibilities, and skillsets (which the staff may not currently possess) to satisfy the assignment objectives and bring them to completion on a stated timetable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with Qlik Sense product environment or equivalent data analysis/discovery/visualization toolsets.
- Knowledge of data visualization techniques and best practices.
- Knowledge of relational database design and data modeling.
- Comfortable with speaking/presenting in front of large groups.
- Able to provide Qlik Sense training and end-user support in a succinct and knowledgeable manner.
- Able to translate business analytics needs into data visualizations.
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative and go beyond what is expected.
- Self-motivated to continue to improve skill set and get the job done.
- Possess the capacity and excitement to learn new technologies.

- Able to uphold professionalism and facilitate interactions across all levels of the agency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Qlik Sense product environment or equivalent data analysis/discovery/visualization toolsets.
- Experience in utilizing data visualization techniques and best practices, as well as the ability to translate business analytic needs into data visualization.
- Ability to speak/present in front of large groups, including providing Qlik Sense training and end-user support.
- Experience in writing SQL queries to extract data from source systems.
Position of Special Trust Requirement:
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Any Qlik certifications
- A bachelor’s or associate degree from a college or university
- Any IT experience or background
- Experience translating/delivering data insights to consumers
Pay:
$30 / Hourly
