BOOST is partnering with a cleared small business that provides mission-critical, AI-driven cyber defense and reverse engineering solutions for U.S. Government clients to hire a Project Director. This opportunity is 100% onsite located in the Northern Virginia area.
Position Summary:
As the Project Director, you will lead the strategic and daily execution of multiple classified task orders with an uncompromising commitment to mission-first, people-always leadership. Reporting directly to the CEO and Senior Project Director, you will act as a decisive, trusted driver of program excellence, surge scaling, and corporate growth, applying operational discipline with zero tolerance for mission failure. This role demands bold, high-impact leadership and a bias for action to sustain 24/7 readiness. You will grow, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams dedicated to protecting critical national security missions under the most demanding conditions, while upholding values of deep accountability, operational rigor, and ethical excellence.
Responsibilities:

Oversee and synchronize multidisciplinary teams across cyber, AI/ML, and engineering disciplines to ensure seamless program execution and stakeholder confidence.

Lead daily and strategic operational planning with a skillset comparable to a senior military officer (Lieutenant Colonel or above) or GS-15+ civilian executive.

Continuously monitor burn rates, workforce utilization, travel/ODC spending, and surge posture, proactively executing adjustments to support mission priorities.

Maintain direct accountability for customer requirements, delivery status, and mission dependencies, ensuring no compromise to performance or readiness.

Own and manage the program risk register, identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cost, schedule, and technical risks with a strong bias for action.

Brief senior government leaders, contracting officers, and mission stakeholders with mission-focused transparency and solutions.

Conduct after-action reviews, capturing lessons learned and implementing improvements for future program excellence.

Prepare and deliver monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) with rigorous performance metrics, variance explanations, and corrective-action plans.

Mentor, coach, and develop the next generation of project managers, technical leads, and scrum masters through a people-always mindset, reinforcing excellence in Agile, ITIL, and DevSecOps.

Provide strategic insight and corporate scaling support to help MRI grow its national security mission impact while maintaining uncompromising delivery standards.
Required Qualifications:

10+ years of program, technical project, or mission-focused operational leadership in classified or national security environments.

Proven track record leading complex, multidisciplinary teams delivering cyber, software, or AI/ML-enabled capabilities.

Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and manage high-performing teams under surge or dynamic conditions.

Deep knowledge of risk management practices and federal acquisition and program management principles.

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to brief senior mission stakeholders and corporate executives at the highest level.

Steadfast commitment to mission-first, people-always leadership with zero tolerance for mission failure.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

PMP, PgMP, DAWIA/FAC-P/PM Level III, or equivalent advanced program management certification.

Prior senior officer (Lieutenant Colonel or above), GS-15+, or equivalent leadership experience overseeing complex, high-consequence mission programs.

Experience scaling small-business programs under IDIQ, SBIR, 8(a), or other federal contracting frameworks.

Familiarity with corporate surge scaling, enterprise-level strategic planning, and growth-focused leadership.

Salary Range:

$245K-$260K (Salary commensurate with experience)
