Position Summary:

As a Senior Technical Writer, you will serve as the principal author and editor for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Situation Reports (SITREPs), and performance-reporting artifacts that document highly complex, AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows. You will transform technical input from engineers, analysts, and program leadership into clear, concise, and fully compliant deliverables that directly support mission execution and contract requirements. This role demands a steadfast mission-first, people-always mindset, applying zero tolerance for mission failure to ensure documentation is accurate, actionable, and ready for high-consequence national security operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain SOPs detailing step-by-step processes for hunt operations, AI/ML deployment, incident response, enclave operations, and secure systems maintenance.

  • Produce weekly and ad-hoc SITREPs summarizing operational status, critical accomplishments, challenges, and mission-focused next steps for senior government stakeholders.

  • Design and publish metrics dashboards or executive-level reports translating raw performance data (KPIs, SLAs, EVM) into meaningful, decision-supporting insights.

  • Ensure all documentation adheres to strict agency style guides, classification markings, and security protocols.

  • Establish and manage document version control processes using Git, SharePoint, or similar platforms; coordinate document reviews and approvals with SMEs and ISSOs.

  • Create process diagrams, graphics, and data visualizations that improve understanding of complex workflows and secure mission environments.

  • Champion editorial best practices across the program to drive consistency, accuracy, and mission alignment.

  • Partner with multidisciplinary technical teams to gather and validate source material, ensuring documentation supports mission-critical readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Seven plus (7+) years of technical writing experience supporting classified, highly regulated, or mission-driven programs.

  • Demonstrated expertise producing SOPs, SITREPs, or operational playbooks for cybersecurity, AI/ML, or IT mission operations.

  • Exceptional grammar, organizational skills, and the ability to translate complex technical content into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to interview and collaborate with subject matter experts across engineering, operations, and leadership.

  • Commitment to mission-first, people-always principles with zero tolerance for documentation gaps that could compromise mission success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Proficiency with Markdown, LaTeX, and Microsoft Office tools, with experience managing documents in Git-based workflows.

  • Familiarity with NISPOM, RMF documentation standards, or classified program style guides.

  • Experience developing visualization graphics using Visio, draw.io, or Adobe Illustrator.

  • Background in basic data analytics or ability to script (Python, R) simple data summaries and reporting tables.

  • Certification such as Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or equivalent.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly

Salary Range:

  • $125K-$144K (Salary commensurate with experience)
