Senior Cybersecurity Communications Director

Empower’s Cybersecurity Communications Director partners with technology and security leadership to translate complex technical initiatives into compelling narratives that inform, engage, and influence both internal and external audiences. You will help drive the strategy, creation, and delivery of high-impact presentations, written content, and communications programs that articulate Empower’s cybersecurity posture.  

This role will be responsible for creating and delivering cybersecurity and technology presentations and content for a variety of audiences.   

What you will do:

• Create and deliver best in class presentations that educate a variety of audiences including but not limited to perspective, new, and existing clients, as well as to internal associates up to Executive Leadership regarding Empower cybersecurity and technology. 

• Develop, write, and edit technical security messaging that communicates the importance and relevance of the Empower security programs and tools. 

• Develop programs to educate internal teams on the Empower security programs and tools. 

• Create and implement communication plans for new security programs, tools, services and changes. 

• Stay abreast of emerging security threats and risks, changes to our program, tools and services, changes in the industry, and changes needed by our clients. 

• Recommends changes to existing security systems, programs and communications as necessary. 

• Coordinate both schedule and logistics of presentations and speaking engagements to include presentation room, audio/visual, connectivity, materials, attendance and supplies. 

• Assists Systems RFP Response team and Technology Innovation Lab team in cross functional collaboration and communication.  

• Will require travel at least 50% of the time 

What you will bring: 

• Outstanding presentation, oral, and writing skills with ability to interact; with all levels of employees, management, regulators, clients, and vendors. 

• Strong information security and information technology knowledge. 

• Experience using AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, etc) to streamline work and generate insights. 

• 3-5 years of practical Information Security and business experience.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), including cloud-based collaboration via SharePoint/OneDrive and Teams. 

• CISA, CISM, CFE and/or CISSP certification desired. 

• CISSP will be required for this important role. 

• Bachelors degree required

Base Salary Range

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
